Following their graduation from Old Dominion University, Dr. Williams served as a Residence Director for the Sophomore Year Experience at The College of New Jersey (Ewing, NJ) before leaving to join the Department of Residential Living and Learning and embarking on the pursuit of their doctorate at Texas A&M University-Commerce (Commerce, TX). While at TAMUC, Dr. Williams assisted in the creation of the African American Male Mentorship (AAMMP) Living and Learning Community in 2013 and was later named as one of the Co-Directors for the Minority Males Matter (M3) Initiative which directly oversaw the recruitment and retention of African American students within this program. After completing their degree, Dr. Williams transitioned to serve as the Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards at Washington University in St. Louis and served as the inaugural advisor for the Black Mens Coalition. It was also during this experience that they became heavily involved within the Association for Student Conduct Administrators (ASCA) eventually serving as the Chair for the Equity and Inclusion Committee and member of the Foundation Board. In addition to his work within his own institutions, Dr. Williams has served as a consultant for student conduct in addition to issues surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion for institutions such as: Allegheny College, Southern University A&M, Rhodes College and Miami University just to name a few. Dr. Williams is an empathetic leader who believes in the ability to infuse Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into the work of student affairs to ensure that all students and community members are able to matriculate and persist while being their authentic self.
